About

Experience

IMG_5170.jpeg

I'm a data enthusiast with a passion for teaching! I have 3 years of experience tutoring economics and probability & statistics at the collegiate level, 2 years of experience tutoring math and reading at the middle school level, and 3 years of experience tutoring Bay Area middle and high school students in math, English, and Spanish. Having worked closely with over 25 students in the past 6 years, I have learned how to be flexible and adapt to any student's learning style, including those with learning differences. I believe that as a tutor, my job is more than just to teach a subject. I aim to stoke students’ curiosity and strengthen their intellectual toolkit so that every student can be an independent, lifelong learner.

What Former

Students Say

"Amanda was my TA for my probability and statistics class at Vassar College. This was one of the most challenging classes I took during my time at Vassar and Amanda played a huge role in helping me be successful in the course. She is extremely knowledgeable of the subject matter and is able to teach you the material without simply giving you the answers. She makes sure you understand how to actually do all the problems and apply the concepts you learn to questions you haven't seen before. She is able to explain complex mathematical problems in a way that is easy to digest and understand. She was always flexible and willing to help, even if she wasn't scheduled to TA at the time she was more than happy to go out of her way for anyone in the course. I highly recommend Amanda as a tutor at any level for her subject matters and believe she will do an exceptional job. Not only is she incredibly smart, she is also a phenomenal person and any student will enjoy their time learning with her."
